Ask for a Discount or a Deal

Ask for a discount

I’ve touched on asking for a discount before when telling you to Buy from a Farmers’ Market, but this applies to lots of places.

What you are aiming for is a percentage off, or for example, 3 for £10.

For the best results, you must be willing to walk away if you don’t get the deal you are looking for.

When you should ask for discount or deal
  • Expensive items. [Car, House, Extension]
  • Bulk buying. [Events, Furniture]
  • Farmer’s Market
  • Second hand
  • Charity Shop
  • Long term customer [Internet, TV, Phone]
  • Item is damaged
  • Accidentally gone overdrawn, and you are a good customer

For some, asking for a deal is going to be hard, but I promise it will get easier the more you ask.

Remember the more desperate you are, the easier it will be for the merchant to refuse a deal, or offer only a token discount.
