March 2017

Welcome to the “Make Money, Save Money” Newsletter.

First off, let me say sorry about last month’s newsletter.
It was for a good cause. I promise!

Most of the tips in this newsletter have videos that can be seen on the website or our YouTube Channel.

So I hope you enjoy the new format.

Make Money

Sorry, this month I have been too busy saving money.
Wait till next month!

Save Money

Ask For a Discount or Deal

I’ve touched on asking for a discount before when telling you to Buy from a Farmers’ Market, but this applies to lots of places.

What you are aiming for is a percentage off, or for example, 3 for £10.

For the best results, you must be willing to walk away if you don’t get the deal you are looking for.

When you should ask for discount or deal
  • Expensive items. [Car, House, Extension]
  • Bulk buying. [Events, Furniture]
  • Farmer’s Market
  • Second hand
  • Charity Shop
  • Long term customer [Internet, TV, Phone]
  • Item is damaged
  • Accidentally gone overdrawn, and you are a good customer

Bulk Buying Supplies

In my household, there are a few items that we go through regularly; toilet roll, toothpaste, and kitchen roll.

Most people will buy these items when you need them.

Personally, I like to buy them in bulk from wholesale.

Discount Aisle

I like a discount, which is why I like to make a bee-line for the discount aisle whenever I go to my local supermarket.

Some supermarkets will only have one place they put their discounts, and others will have one per department.
My supermarket has 5 different locations, that I know.

They will sometimes move location, and change when they reduce to keep you guessing.

These suggestions won’t be applicable to everyone, but try to work out how they could be adapted for you.

Hopefully, these suggestions give you money ideas!

That’s it for this newsletter. See you next time!

If you have any suggestions or questions then drop me a reply to this email.
